European clubs lost €9 billion of revenue in the pandemic seasons

Conclusions the Europeas Club Footballing Landscape report

UEFA published a document, which shows thorogh examination of how the coronavirus has affected European club football. <

>According to the authors of the report clubs across all tiers of European football are forecast to miss out on about EUR 9 billion of revenue in the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 financial years. This is only a prediction, but a well calculated one. <

>It wis worth mentioning that almost every European league was suspended in 2020 due to the out
eak of the pandemic. Among them 38 top tier leagues were able to conclude their 2020 season, which saved them around EUR 2 billion as TV contract penalties did not occur. The current estimation of lost revenues during the 2019-21 period is to be EUR 7.2 billion (top tier leagues) and EUR 1.5 billion (lower tier leagues).<

>The pansdemic had its effect on the transfer market. The toal spendings on trasfers in the summer window of 2020 was by 39% lower than in 2019 and 30% lower thatn in the previous three summer transfer windows.<
